Eagle's Nest Camp is seeking enthusiastic and experienced outdoor educators to work in our wilderness programs for the summer of 2018.
Responsibilities: Field Instructors and Outdoor Educators will be responsible for working with our Wilderness Program Manager to plan and lead wilderness trips, Added Adventures (1 week trips), and Hante Adventures (3 week trips) with focuses on backpacking, climbing and paddling. We offer adventures for children of all ages, grouped according to maturity and skill level. Instructors teach a variety of intensive camping skills including food preparation, fire building, backpacking/climbing/canoeing skills, and LNT ethics, in addition to leadership and interpersonal relationship skills. Instructors are responsible for the details of their trips, including but not limited to: planning menus, itineraries, and lesson plans; budgeting for expenditures; reviewing risk and creating emergency plans; documenting trips through logs and photos; and prep/clean-up of gear. In addition, instructors are responsible for participants' safety and well-being, for learning and following Eagle's Nest Foundation protocols, and for working with our medical staff to prepare medical packs for treks.
Qualifications: All applicants must be at least 18 years old with one full year out of high school. CPR and WFA certification required; WFR certification or higher preferred. We also value certifications and training in areas including LNT, LGT, natural and environmental science, SWR, paddling and climbing.
Dates: Position is from May 31st to August 13th, 2018. In addition, some positions require attendance at a training clinic. Please see our website, www.enf.org for clinic dates.

Who We Are: Eagle's Nest Camp is a coed camp over 85 years old located in the lush mountains of Western North Carolina. Eagle's Nest provides a strong, nurturing community where campers ages 6-17 are treated with respect, honor and compassion. Campers have the opportunity to participate in 1-3 week long sessions which emphasize the wilderness, arts and community.
