Director of Employer Relations - Clark University

Clark University, founded in 1887, is a private, liberal arts-based research university with a distinguished academic and research pedigree that is redefining higher education for the 21st century. The university enrolls 3,224 students—2,300 of whom are undergraduates pursing 32 academic majors. Through its LEEP (Liberal Education and Effective Practice) Center, Clark is providing students opportunities to mesh their academic skills with real-world work experiences that give meaning to their endeavors and directly impacts the organizations and communities around them. In fall 2017, the university launched a new digital platform, ClarkCONNECT, which provides students access to mentorship, internships, job shadowing opportunities, and other valuable interactions made possible by supportive alumni, parents, and friends of Clark worldwide. ClarkCONNECT amplifies and complements the work of the LEEP Center and is proving invaluable in helping students expand their sights as they link their academic, co-curricular, and post-graduate aspirations and advance confidently toward graduation and lives of impact and success. Located in Worcester, Massachusetts—with its diverse economy spanning the arts, biotechnology research, health care, financial services, higher education, and green energy enterprise—the Clark learning community thrives in an accessible city that is also conveniently located within a one hour drive of Boston, Hartford, CT, and Providence, RI.

The Director of Employer Relations will employ available technology, including CRM and enterprise systems as well as assessment tools, to monitor, report, and analyze internal and external interactions that support, sustain, and scale ClarkCONNECT strategic priorities. Working in conjunction with career services and other institutional partners, the director will be responsible for establishing best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with fair and equitable recruiting and selection standards for student internship and/or employment opportunities. In addition to designing and executing an effective communication plan focused on phone, written, and electronic outreach, the Director of Employer Relations will manage a strategic recruitment travel schedule and be actively involved in a broad range of on- and off-campus events that bring Clark supporters together to address mutual interests, build community and heighten engagement, and celebrate success.
