Full-Time Adventure Based Counseling Facilitator
George Junior Republic is a treatment facility for adjudicated youth in western Pennsylvania. Established in 1909, GJR is dedicated to helping at-risk youth become successful, well-adjusted adults, capable of achieving a higher degree of citizenship, and better understanding of his responsibility to society, his family and himself. This position serves as a lead facilitator of some groups at the Adventure Based Counseling Facility.
Plan and develop sequential experiences for groups.
Facilitate groups through the program/course.
Assist with the development of curricula to include high ropes activities.
Attend workshops, trainings and other related meetings.
Assist in training of all staff based on industry standard recommendations.
Review all safety concerns with Director of Adventure Based Counseling.
Work in a safe manner being aware of personal safety and the safety of others.
Oversee, demonstrate and administer high course rescues as needed.
Assist with bi-monthly and daily inspections of the ropes course and equipment.
Revise and review all pre and post-session activity forms and write group notes as applicable.
Assist with daily record keeping including incident reports, near misses, equipment logs, course scheduling and other record keeping duties.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
Take over necessary functions of the ABC Director in their absence.
Typical work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday
Must be at least 21 years of age.

Level II ACCT Practitioner
